He's colossal! Stupendous! One might even go so far as to say... he's mediocre!

TMNT Smash-Up trailer

Posted by metalsonic655 - February 5th, 2022

Shredder being announced as DLC in that Nick Smash clone got me thinkin about TMNT Smash-Up and I gotta ask

why does the trailer for this aggressively average game go SO goddamn hard? Look at this shit, it friggin rocks! They should make another TMNT game like this but with an actual good roster.

Don’t you hate how Shredder is based on the 03 series yet this was a tie in to TMNT which didn’t even have Shredder in it. Not to mention 3 FUCKING RABBIDS ARE IN THE ROSTER.

I didn't mind that too much since you shouldn't have a TMNT fighting game without Shredder. Hell, better Shredder than any of the forgettable villains the 2007 movie actually had. The worst part is that the whole game just feels like a fucked up mismash of ideas, like the game doesn't know what it wants to be. The Technodrome appears in a stage, yet everything else is based on either the 2003 cartoon or 2007 movie. Like, Utrominator is there as a Krang substitute rather than Krang actually being in the roster. I don't know if any of these decisions have something to do with Peter Laird's general resentment for the '87 series, but it's very weird this game has some elements of it but doesn't really commit.

Also yeah the Rabbids being in the roster at all fucking sucks lmao
